Rural Youth Organizer: Hancock/Washington County
Dani Robbins (they/them, she/her) is an artist, educator, and organizer based in Wabanaki Territory in what is currently known as Downeast, Maine. Dani was raised in central Massachusetts, although family connections to the Downeast region brought them back to Maine after studying dance and social action at Bennington College in Vermont. After receiving a Graduate Certificate in Interdisciplinary Disability Studies from the University of Maine in 2024 and completing the NAS New England Creative Community Fellowship in 2023, Dani reoriented their career from education towards public health and prevention, with a focus on the connection between climate change and substance misuse, as well as the empowerment of rural LGBTQ+ youth. They work as a Community Health Coordinator for Healthy Acadia, continue to make lots of art, and teach arts and social praxis to a variety of ages.
