Impact

Meaningful grassroots change takes time, and that is why we are committed to this work. The JMJU team feels tangible impacts of their experiences leading organizing in their rural communities. Below we captured some of the impacts of our work that are often invisible and incremental.

"For the longest time, I had no interest in learning about climate change. I always ignored it and, quite frankly, I really didn't know anything about it. When I joined JustME for JustUS, something inside me flipped. Realizing that so many social issues intersect with climate change quite literally changed the way I look at the environment."

"I have been doing activist work for around 8 years or a bit more now and coming to a place where my interests, passions and concerns were not only addressed, but supported and valued, leaves me heartfelt and speechless.

I feel endlessly grateful for JMJU for supporting my desire to expand not only my skills as a community organizer around issues of environmental stewardship, social justice and community resilience but beyond that, also simultaneously providing some sort of service back to my direct local community here in Maine."
