Rural Youth Organizing Fellow: Franklin County
Alice Staples (she/her) is a 5th-year student at the University of Maine at Farmington, earning a degree in Music. Originally from Hollis, Maine, Alice is a former member of the GLSEN Southern Maine board, as well as a former volunteer of OUTMaine. She loves being a part of a community, and as part of the UMF Admissions team, she helps foster new members of the college into both the college and the town communities.
Alice hopes to include intersectionality as a major part of her work. She also hopes to incorporate art into her work with JMJU, both from herself and from local artists.
When she isn’t working, Alice makes ambient music, usually inspired by nature and flora. She is also an avid fan of tabletop games, video games, and learning languages.
